97. Al-Qadr (القدر)
بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمـٰنِ الرَّحيمِ
Verse 1
إِنّا أَنزَلنـٰهُ فى لَيلَةِ القَدرِ
Translation
Indeed, We sent this [Qur’an] down on the Night of Decree[1].

وَما أَدرىٰكَ ما لَيلَةُ القَدرِ
Translation
How do you know what the Night of Decree is?

لَيلَةُ القَدرِ خَيرٌ مِن أَلفِ شَهرٍ
Translation
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.

تَنَزَّلُ المَلـٰئِكَةُ وَالرّوحُ فيها بِإِذنِ رَبِّهِم مِن كُلِّ أَمرٍ
Translation
On that night the angels and the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] descend by their Lord’s permission with all decrees[1].

سَلـٰمٌ هِىَ حَتّىٰ مَطلَعِ الفَجرِ
Translation
It is all peace[1] until the break of dawn.
