84. Al-Inshiqaq (الإنشقاق)
بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمـٰنِ الرَّحيمِ
Verse 1
إِذَا السَّماءُ انشَقَّت
Translation
When the sky is rent asunder,

وَأَذِنَت لِرَبِّها وَحُقَّت
Translation
and hearkens to its Lord[1], as it must,

وَإِذَا الأَرضُ مُدَّت
Translation
and when the earth is leveled out[1],

وَأَلقَت ما فيها وَتَخَلَّت
Translation
and casts out all what it contains[1], and becomes empty,

وَأَذِنَت لِرَبِّها وَحُقَّت
Translation
and hearkens to its Lord, as it must,

يـٰأَيُّهَا الإِنسـٰنُ إِنَّكَ كادِحٌ إِلىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدحًا فَمُلـٰقيهِ
Translation
O humans, you are toiling towards your Lord[1], and you will surely meet Him[2].

فَأَمّا مَن أوتِىَ كِتـٰبَهُ بِيَمينِهِ
Translation
Whoever is given his Record in his right hand,

فَسَوفَ يُحاسَبُ حِسابًا يَسيرًا
Translation
he will have an easy reckoning,

وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلىٰ أَهلِهِ مَسرورًا
Translation
and he will return to his people joyfully.

وَأَمّا مَن أوتِىَ كِتـٰبَهُ وَراءَ ظَهرِهِ
Translation
But whoever is given his Record from behind his back,

فَسَوفَ يَدعوا ثُبورًا
Translation
he will call out for destruction,

وَيَصلىٰ سَعيرًا

and he will enter the Blazing Fire.

إِنَّهُ كانَ فى أَهلِهِ مَسرورًا
Translation
Indeed, he used to live among his people joyfully.

إِنَّهُ ظَنَّ أَن لَن يَحورَ
Translation
and he thought that he would never return [to Allah].

بَلىٰ إِنَّ رَبَّهُ كانَ بِهِ بَصيرًا
Translation
Indeed he will! His Lord was always watching him.

فَلا أُقسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِ
Translation
Indeed, I swear by the twilight,

وَالَّيلِ وَما وَسَقَ

and by the night and what it covers,

وَالقَمَرِ إِذَا اتَّسَقَ

and by the moon when it becomes full,

لَتَركَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٍ
Translation
You will surely pass from one stage to another[1].

فَما لَهُم لا يُؤمِنونَ
Translation
Then what is the matter with them that they do not believe,

وَإِذا قُرِئَ عَلَيهِمُ القُرءانُ لا يَسجُدونَ ۩
Translation
and when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not prostrate?

بَلِ الَّذينَ كَفَروا يُكَذِّبونَ
Translation
Rather, the disbelievers persist in denying it,

وَاللَّهُ أَعلَمُ بِما يوعونَ
Translation
but Allah knows best whatever they harbor in their hearts.

فَبَشِّرهُم بِعَذابٍ أَليمٍ
Translation
So give them the tidings of a painful punishment.

Verse 25
إِلَّا الَّذينَ ءامَنوا وَعَمِلُوا الصّـٰلِحـٰتِ لَهُم أَجرٌ غَيرُ مَمنونٍ
Translation
But those who believe and do righteous deeds will have a never-ending reward.
