113. Al-Falaq (الفلق)

بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمـٰنِ الرَّحيمِ

Verse 1

قُل أَعوذُ بِرَبِّ الفَلَقِ

Translation

Say, “I seek refuge with the Lord of the daybreak,

مِن شَرِّ ما خَلَقَ

Translation

from the harm of all what He has created;

وَمِن شَرِّ غاسِقٍ إِذا وَقَبَ

Translation

from the harm of darkening [night] when it spreads around,

وَمِن شَرِّ النَّفّـٰثـٰتِ فِى العُقَدِ

Translation

from the harm of the sorceresses[1] who blow on knots,

and from the harm of the envier when he envies."
